Departing interim president gives thanks for university’s community

St. Cloud Times — For many St. Cloud State University students, today marks the last day of a five-day Thanksgiving weekend.

Some of them (I’m sure only a few), would likely say they are not ready for their vacations to end. While I’m ready and excited to see campus buzzing again tomorrow, I would first like to share my thanks and appreciation for St. Cloud State its students, faculty and staff and the larger community we serve.

Earlier this month, I announced that I have accepted the position of President at Northern Kentucky University effective July 1, 2018. The opportunity to serve as Provost and Interim President for St. Cloud State for the last 2 ½ years has been one of the most professionally rewarding experiences of my career.

St. Cloud State University is a campus of significance and I was drawn to it because of the university’s unending commitment to students and a focus on engagement – both local and global. Together we have weathered some difficult challenges, but we have achieved some important successes that will position St. Cloud State University for a very successful future.
