ST. CLOUD TIMES — Since the mid-1980s, Dawn Schenk has been unofficial mom for numerous St. Cloud State athletes, many of them far from home.
These days, SCSU’s No. 1 sports mom is struggling. She has inoperable lung cancer.
“I’m on maintenance,” said Schenk, 65, a long-time St. Cloud resident. “I’ll be on drugs the rest of my life.”
