Husky Productions will present a dozen men’s and women’s Huskies Hockey games this season for broadcast by FOX Sports North.

The nine men’s games and three women’s games are part of a 39-game “College Hockey on FOX Sports North” schedule.

The Jan. 19 men’s Huskies Hockey game against Western Michigan will be broadcast during day-long coverage of the 13th Hockey Day Minnesota.

Broadcasts originating from St. Cloud State will by produced by the award-winning, student-run Husky Productions.

Announcers are Jim Rich, a veteran Twin Cities sports journalist, and Pat Micheletti, a former college and minor professional player. 

Studio host is Joe Scarrella, a senior mass communications major from Delano. Kirsten Krull is the ice-side reporter. She is a senior mass communications major from Rochester.

“College Hockey on FOX Sports North” is a collaboration with the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), the Western Collegiate Hockey Conference (WCHA) and the University of Minnesota.

Games will be streamed live via the FOX Sports app. The FOX Sports app, available to iOS and Android devices, provides live streaming video of FOX Sports content along with highlights and instant alerts for scores and key plays.

Women’s Huskies Hockey (0-2) continues its non-conference schedule with a home series Oct. 5-6 against Rochester Institute of Technology.

Coach Eric Rud’s team is led by goalies: Swiss Olympian Janine Alder, a junior from Zurich, and third team All-WCHA selection Emma Polusny, a sophomore from Mound, Minnesota.

The defending NCHC champions, men’s Huskies Hockey (0-0) is sixth-ranked nationally in the U.S. College Hockey Online preseason poll. The veteran team is helmed by first-year coach Brett Larson. 

Among the team leaders is Hobey Baker finalist and team captain Jimmy Schuldt, a senior from Minnetonka.

The men have a home exhibition game Oct. 5 against a Canadian college. The season begins with a road series Oct. 12-13 at University of Alaska Fairbanks.
