More than 800 St. Cloud State community members gathered Monday for Central Minnesota’s breakfast and day of service honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
The event featured remarks by author and journalist Wil Haygood and an on-site service project to assemble Dream Packages for people in need in the St. Cloud Area.
St. Cloud State University President Robbyn Wacker opened the event by giving introductory remarks. Professor and Community Anti-Racism Education Initiative (CARE) lead organizer Debra Leigh presented on the history of diversity at St. Cloud State.
St. Cloud State Percussion Ensemble and Concert Choir performed at the event.
