Two women light candles
St. Cloud State University students, faculty and staff joined with community leaders April 23 to honor victims of the Sri Lanka bombing attacks with a candlelight vigil in recognition of a national day of morning in Sri Lanka.
An estimated 253 people were killed and hundreds injured when suicide bombers attacked people at Easter services and brunches at churches and hotels April 21, including men, women and children.
Campus and community members gathered to honor the victims and survivors.
Speakers included President Robbyn Wacker, religious leaders, Mayor Dave Kleis, professors and students.
The vigil was organized by the Ayubowan Sri Lanka Organization.
