KNSI — October is breast cancer awareness month, and the American Cancer Society is honoring survivors with walks across the nation.
“The American Cancer Society, currently nationwide, hosts an event called Making Strides against Breast Cancer. This event has been celebrated for 25 years nationwide,” said Kim Orn with the American Cancer Society of Central Minnesota.
Walks will be held in communities across the nation, including the St. Cloud area.
“Here in St. Cloud, or Central Minnesota, we are now in our 11th year with the breast cancer walk that will be coming up on October 26th.”
The purpose of the local walk is to unite communities and honor those who have been touched by the disease while raising money to combat it.
