SCSU students participate in Minnesota Conference of Undergraduate Scholarly and Creative Activity

St. Cloud State University hosted the eighth annual Minnesota Conference of Undergraduate Scholarly and Creative Activity (MCUSCA) on March 25 on campus.

Dr. Lowell Hellervik ’56 is the generous benefactor of the prestigious Hellervik Prize, an annual faculty research award.

MCUSCA provided students and alumni from St. Cloud State and other universities across Minnesota the opportunity to showcase projects such as presentations, oral papers, visual arts displays and performance arts.

The SCSU Foundation supported students at MCUSCA and the goal of helping enhance St. Cloud State’s ability to ignite students’ learning and discovery of their gifts, passions and potential contributions to society with a Foundation Board grant, which was supported by gifts to the Foundation’s Annual Fund.

In total 12 St. Cloud State students that participated in showcasing their research and creative works at MCUSCA. In addition, the event featured a panel discussion on the importance of being involved in undergraduate research that consisted of seven St. Cloud State alumni. Dr. Lowell Hellervik, ’56, a St. Cloud State alumnus and co-founder of PDI Ninth House, gave the conference’s keynote address.
