ST. CLOUD TIMES — A person affiliated with St. Cloud State University has been diagnosed with COVID-19, an email from the president’s office reported Thursday afternoon.
This is the college’s first notification of a lab-confirmed case, the email said. It does not say whether the person diagnosed is a student or employee of the university, instead referring to the person as a “member of the St. Cloud State University community.”
“We are thankful to this individual for their self-awareness and reporting their condition to us,” the email said. “As access to diagnostics increases … so will the number of positive cases — both in the wider community and among members of our Husky community.”
The email said the Minnesota Department of Health’s investigation determined the risk of exposure at SCSU to be low, and “similar to the exposure one might have while being out in the community.”
