Here are a few SCSU students who received SCSU Foundation scholarships last year and the impact it had on them:
“Coming from a low-income background, this scholarship will grant me the opportunity to travel to South Africa in a financially secure and responsible manner. I am a first-generation student from Oakdale, Minnesota. I chose to come to SCSU…and was amazed by the various resources offered, and tight knit community. I am a double major in Political Science and Communication Studies because I have a passion for learning about the structure of our government to bring positive change for underrepresented people in my community. I greatly appreciate your generosity in providing the donation for this scholarship because it has made a big impact in my life.”
– Political Science and Communication Studies student Karen Ortiz ’22, who received the Edith Jorgensen Study Abroad Scholarship and the MeCHA/La Raza Scholarship.
“Your support and belief in my educational abilities mean so much to me, and this award money will make a huge impact on my education. It will surely help me financially as I pursue my career in nursing.”
– Nursing student Molly Callen ’22, who received the Clarence Fogelstrom Endowed Scholarship.
“I would like to thank you for your gracious generosity. This scholarship will greatly help me in my scholarly journey. I’ll have the privilege of not having to worry as much about my out-of-college debt.”
– Computer Engineering student Nathaniel McKelvey ’22, who received the Park Industries Endowed Scholarships.
