The 2020-21 year started with an eye to safety with many Huskies First Four activities held out of doors or in small groups to allow for physical distancing.
Throughout Huskies First Four new students had a chance to explore campus and make new friends during physically-distanced welcoming events. The dozens of Huskies First Four Days events were helped along by orientation leaders, who modeled the recommended behaviors to Protect the Pack from COVID-19. A feature of Huskies First Four was once again the New Student Convocation with a limited number of in-person participants, but many more attending virtually through a live stream link.
What followed New Student Convocation was a full day of academic orientation events, service projects and afternoon workshops.
The activities continued Saturday with a morning hike, followed by Chalk & Chill, self-guided campus and classroom tours, free play in the Atwood Underground and new student social events in Atwood Memorial Center. Students closed out the First Four Days with an Outdoor Yoga Class, residential student gatherings, an online orientation student social and an ice cream social.
