St. Cloud State University was awarded the institution’s first TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Grant. The award totals more than $1.3 million over the next five years.
“We are extremely excited to add this initiative to our retention initiatives. This work is directly aligned with our presidential initiative of enhancing our individualized student support,” said Dr. Jason Woods, vice president for Strategic Enrollment Management. “Furthermore, it strengthens the institution’s ability to focus on the Minnesota State’s Equity 2030 initiative of closing the equity gap for underrepresented students.”
This five-year competitive grant offered by the Department of Education is designed to serve 140 students. The program services will include academic tutoring, information and assistance concerning financial aid programs, and benefits and counseling services geared toward improving financial and economic literacy.
