St. Cloud State University is gearing up for Huskies First Four to welcome our incoming first year and transfer students with four days of activities to meet new friends and have fun Aug. 19-22.
Huskies First Four is an orientation and transition program for first-year, transfer and international students to get the information they need to be successful in starting their St. Cloud State career, get to know campus, and meet other students.
The days are packed with academic programming, socials, and recreational activities for students on campus and in the St. Cloud community.
“We can’t wait to welcome our new Huskies to campus at Huskies First Four Days!”, said Tristan Richards, orientation coordinator. “We are confident our program will help students connect to campus and each other and set them up for success in their first semester and beyond.”
Huskies First Four is the first step in “The Full Husky Experience” for Fall 2021 in which St. Cloud State University welcomes back students to a fully open campus and brings back experiences including New Student Convocation, Main Street, Homecoming and more. Students living in residence halls will once more have the option to live with a roommate, and Garvey Commons brings back popular options including self-serve salad bars and the make your own waffle station. Huskies Athletics is preparing to welcome fans back to the stands this fall with the first Huskies Volleyball home opener the Saturday of Huskies First Four.
“Building a sense of belonging and community is what makes Huskies First Four Days so special,” said Jonathan Dietz, an orientation student coordinator. “Supporting and welcoming new entering students is why I love being a student leader.”
Students can also choose to attend an online version of the orientation.
With COVID-19 pandemic restrictions lifting, safety remains an important part of planning for Fall 2021 and the Full Husky Experience, and staff are committed to continuing to provide a safe campus environment with sanitized facilities. Students will be reminded to do the Husky Health Check before coming to classes and continue to stay home if they feel ill.
