The College of Education and Learning Design and the English Department are teaming up to examine the importance of hip hop culture and its influence on teaching and learning through a six-part webinar series featuring leaders in the field of hip hop pedagogy.
“Hip Hop Education: Beyond the Classroom Walls” explores both the research and practical experiences of teachers using hip hop pedagogy to energize and deepen classroom relationships and learning.
Hosted by Dr. Michael Dando, the webinar series seeks to provide a culturally relevant education resource to the St. Cloud State community and to in-service and pre-service teachers and community organizations. Speakers include scholars, researchers, teachers and artists.
The series supports St. Cloud State University’s It’s Time framework commitment to support a university of teacher-scholars by providing faculty with new insight they can use to innovate new approaches to teaching and learning. Register for the series.
