St. Cloud State University has been ranked as one of the top Best Value Colleges in the state by SmartAsset, an online source for helping people make smart financial decisions by publishing accurate and actionable advice, and personalized calculators and educational tools to assist in navigating financial decisions.
SmartAsset ranked St. Cloud State ninth on its Best Value Colleges in Minnesota list, comparing in-state institutions across five factors: scholarship and grant offerings, tuition, student living expenses, student retention rate and starting salary for new graduates.
After compiling data across those five areas, SmartAsset then applied a 25 percent weighting to starting salary, tuition and living costs, and a 12.5 percent weighting to scholarships, grants and retention rate to compile a list of Best Value Colleges. Institutions were ranked in accordance with their score on the index.
