Registration is now open for St. Cloud Scrubs Camp for high school and middle school students interested in learning about health science professions. The camp is July 26-28 on the campus of St. Cloud State University.
Only 60 spots are open for students at this year’s camp, so campers are encouraged to register early to reserve their spot.
Scrubs Camp is a day camp for students entering grades 7-12 who are interested in exploring health science professions. The camp offers engaging, interactive sessions led by St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical & Community College faculty and students, and professionals from community partners including CentraCare.
The 2022 Scrubs Camp theme is Technology in Healthcare. Students will explore how healthcare workers would use appropriate technology to find out how to make a person heal or save a person’s life.
In addition to focusing on the role of doctors and nurses, the camp allows students to explore the roles of other workers in the alternative healthcare industry such as chiropractic and acupuncture. Faculty and students from St. Cloud State and SCTCC will help students to explore these professions. The camp is also exploring adding additional fun sessions, such as a visit to the St. Cloud State Planetarium.
Students will also have the opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals and equipment throughout the camp and participate in a discussion of the careers and diagnostic considerations with the potential for hands-on experience with the technology.
A Scrubs Camp Scholarship is available for students who need assistance.
St. Cloud Scrubs Camp is a collaborative effort between businesses and industries of the St. Cloud region, St. Cloud State, SCTCC and HealthForce Minnesota.
