A message from St. Cloud State University President Robbyn Wacker:
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Renee Hiller to the position of Vice President for Human Resources and Workplace Experience. Ms. Hiller will play an integral role in advancing It’s Time by finding ways to support and have an impact on the success of our students through the work that we all do. Renee brings to this position a high degree of enthusiasm and passion for determining how to create a working environment that is productive and collaborative, while bringing the University into the future.
Renee offers an excellent portfolio of professional experience. She has more than 14 years of progressive leadership experience in human resources at Michigan Technological University. Since 2013, she has served as the Director of Human Resources with a focus on benefit and wellness services, employment services, academic HR, human resource information services and payroll services. As a campus leader, Renee focuses on working collaboratively with colleagues in Human Resources and employees and leaders across campus to accomplish shared goals and priorities. Prior to Michigan Tech, Renee worked for nearly a decade in business sector human resources in areas of healthcare, staffing services and manufacturing.
Renee is an active community member with service on boards such as the Michigan Universities Coalition on Health, and the Midwest region and national boards of CUPA-HR (College & Universities Professional Association). Finding ways to continuously learn and develop, she received her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification in June 2011 and her SHRM-SCP in July 2015. Renee earned her B.S. in Human Resource Management from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Illinois.
Renee is excited to become part of our Husky community and a leading member of our team. She, her husband, and three children are very much looking forward to their move to the St. Cloud area. I am most certain that they will readily transition to our local community with family interests such as playing hockey, cross country running/skiing, and band.
I want to extend my gratitude to Judith Siminoe and members of the search committee who dedicated their time and effort to introduce outstanding candidates to our campus community. I appreciate the insights and consideration each committee member devoted to the process, and my thanks to the many members of the campus community who participated in this search and provided valuable feedback along the way.
Please join me in welcoming Renee to St. Cloud State University! Her leadership will begin on August 15.
