St. Cloud State University President Robbyn Wacker, campus leadership, and students met with Commissioner Dennis Olson of the Minnesota Office of Higher Education on Sept. 26 for a discussion about the current state of higher education and how the state can help St. Cloud State.
This fall, Commissioner Olson is visiting higher education campuses throughout Minnesota to sit down with campus leadership, staff and students for conversation about how both sides can work together to strengthen higher education.
The conversation included discussions about campus success at St. Cloud State and what has gone well, some areas of concern or focus for the University, what investments from the state are working/helping students, and what support St. Cloud State would like to see included in future session policy or budget proposals.
Along with President Wacker, St. Cloud State discussants included Dr. Jason Woods, Vice President for Strategic Enrollment; Maria Wright, Director of Dual Enrollment; Dr. Jennifer Mueller, Dean of the College of Education and Learning Design; Dr. Claudia Tomany, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Associate Provost for Research and Sponsored Programs; Brandon Johnson, Executive Director of Academic Resources; Dr. Katrina Rodriguez, Vice President for Student Affairs; Angie Witte, Program Coordinator in Multicultural Student Services; Chocoletta Simpson, Director of Equal Opportunity & Title IX Coordinator; and St. Cloud State students.
