St. Cloud State University celebrated its latest wave of graduates over six ceremonies during Spring 2023 Commencement on May 5. Each individual ceremony for colleges and schools was intended to provide each Husky a unique graduation experience.
About 1,077 students out of 1,259 total graduates participated in Commencement ceremonies throughout the day. Participating in the Commencement ceremonies were 32 associate degree earners, 728 bachelor’s degree earners, 302 graduate students and 12 doctoral students.
Graduates earning Honors cords include 104 earning Summa Cum Laude, 144 earning Magna Cum Laude and 128 earning Cum Laude.
Ceremonies were held in Ritsche Auditorium in Stewart Hall and livestreamed on our Commencement website.
President Robbyn Wacker, Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management Jason Woods and Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Kim Greer were among the Deans, faculty, staff and University leadership assisting with the ceremonies and celebration of graduates.
“I see a graduating class from different walks of life and identities who semester after semester, day after day, successfully faced the unknown and unexpected,” President Wacker said. “Even though your time at St. Cloud State is finished, I know you will continue to adapt and to live into your greatness.”
Student Government President and 2023 graduate Arslan Malik, an Information Systems major, also assisted with the ceremonies and was the student speaker.
“It is our mission as an institution to see you through graduation,” Vice President Woods said. “Our greatest sense of accomplishment in completing this mission is seeing the bright smiles of our proud graduate Huskies with their loved ones.”
