A St. Cloud State University Mass Communications student was recognized as one of the most outstanding collegiate radio and TV sports broadcasters in the country in May.
Junior Anna Behning, who works with Husky Productions and is a News Sports Anchor with UTVS, received 2023 All-American Honorable Mention recognition by the Sportscasters Talent Agency of America (STAA) All-America Program, which recognizes the top collegiate sportscasters each spring.
Behning is added to a growing list of students who have earned recent recognition during the annual STAA awards presentation, joining the likes of Katie (Emmer) Storm in 2018 (winner of Jim Nantz Award), Joe Scarrella in 2019 (Top 20 selection), Kirsten Krull in 2020 (Top 20 selection) and Sam Goetzinger in 2022 (Honorable Mention).
Behning is part of a group of faculty, staff and students that has led SCSU to once again earn national recognition as a top broadcast school in the country. She was also part of a group of students with Husky Productions and UTVS that earned multiple top honors from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association and the Society of Professional Journalists in April.
