St. Cloud State University’s Campus Recreation is accepting donations of toys to gift to St. Cloud area children during the upcoming holiday season.
Campus Recreation is holding its annual Dolls for Children program through Dec. 14, partnering with the Southside Boys and Girls Club and Promise Neighborhood in an attempt to put a smile on children’s faces over the holidays.
“This is an especially challenging time for many families,” said Calvin Diggs, chair of the Dolls for Children program and Director of Campus Recreation at SCSU. “In a lot of instances, these are the only toys these children get. They see lots of other kids celebrating and getting all these wonderful things, but they don’t have that. This event is it for them so we can make it a happy time for all.”
In 2022, Campus Recreation raised 122 toys to gift to area children thanks to the donations of SCSU students, faculty, staff, alumni and surrounding community. Those who are interested in making donations to the Dolls for Children program can do so by dropping items off at the Campus Recreation welcome desk or by emailing [email protected].
