St. Cloud Community and Technical College Designated a National Center of Academic Excellence

St. Cloud Community and Technical College (SCTCC) was recently designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD.)

The National Security Agency (NSA) launched the Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE-IAE) program in 1999 to recognize institutions that pass rigorous curriculum and program requirements.

The CAE-CD designation indicates an institution is helping to reduce threats to the U.S. infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in cyber defense and by providing the nation with a pipeline of qualified cybersecurity professionals.

Brian Volkmuth and Ryan Salner lead the SCTCC effort to earn the certification. Both are recent graduates of the Masters of Information Assurance program at St. Cloud State University. Mark Schmidt and Erich Rice at SCSU worked to help SCTCC with their application process. SCSU is looking forward to more collaboration opportunities and to continuing their partnership with SCTCC.
