The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) has awarded St. Cloud State University a $327k training grant in partnership with specialty contractor Veit.
The grant was awarded under Minnesota Job Skills Partnership (MJSP) funding, and the training program will work to expand current in-house training programs and develop new training programs to maintain a competitive edge for Veit in the construction industry.
Support from this grant will enable Veit to develop a streamlined, customized training program with appropriate learning materials, enabling attendees to achieve their growth goals, support digital advancements and remain competitive in the job market. This will be a collaborative initiative between SCSU’s Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) department, other higher education institutions and local experts to develop and deliver training.
Veit is based in Rogers, Minnesota, and is one of the country’s leading specialty contractors with over 97 years of experience specializing in earthwork, demolition, foundation, marine, utility, industrial cleaning, CIPP, waste management and disposal services.
PACE partners with businesses to offer professional development, customized training and host conferences and events. PACE has partnered with over 20 companies on grants totaling over $5 million, serving more than 6,500 employees with professional and continuing education customized to their industry.
