St. Cloud State University’s Department of Human Resources (HR) has partnered with areas across campus to purchase additional exercise equipment for faculty, staff and students to utilize.
The Husky Physical Activity and Wellness Center (Husky PAW) aims to make physical activity accessible for all students, faculty, and staff by matching enrolled individuals with a trained fitness professional to create an individualized exercise plan.
The service is located in Eastman Hall and is available to all employees and students free of charge during the school year. Husky PAW will be purchasing a pull-up bar, kettlebell weights and a bosu ball with the grant funding.
HR also collaborated with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and the Department of Kinesiology, Community Health and Gerontology to obtain the grant.
“HR’s support in securing these funds has been instrumental and helping us improve our facilities,” said Dr. Kyle Reason, director of Husky PAW and assistant professor of kinesiology. “The addition of this new equipment will expand our ability to offer services that enhance the health and well-being of the campus community, which is closely aligned with our campus-wide initiative to promote exercise as medicine.”
