St. Cloud State University is awarding its first round of Husky Impact grants to #OurSCSU community.

Over $500,000 altogether will be awarded to strategic campus initiatives, with funding made possible by supporters of the Husky Impact Fund (HIF). SCSU’s Advancement & Alumni Engagement team developed a HIF grant application in 2025 to award the unrestricted funds to areas of campus in line with the fund’s philanthropic priorities: removing barriers to education and student success, innovation and academic success, dynamic living and learning spaces, vibrant campus life, and Huskies athletics.

Among the Husky Impact projects are an academic center for student-athletes, an annual campus-community summit tied to the SCSU Community Garden, strategic positioning for the Center for Policy Research & Community Engagement to achieve long-term financial sustainability, a unified strategy for artificial intelligence readiness at SCSU, and financial assistance for students living on campus. More information on each project will be shared in the coming months.

“This is great news for our students and our university,” said Dr. Gregory Tomso, president of SCSU. “The Husky Impact Fund is having widespread and substantial impact on St. Cloud State students and the campus as a whole.”

“This was a pilot program to determine how best to distribute Husky Impact grants to the campus that will have the most strategic and needed funding,” added Dr. Mark Parsons, interim vice president of Advancement & Alumni Engagement. “Philanthropy has a direct impact on our university, and we’re excited to see that impact maximized on campus.”
