St. Cloud State University’s undefeated League of Legends team has qualified for a national tournament in only their first semester of competition.

The Huskies will compete in Riot Games’ 2026 College League of Legends Championship on April 18. The Huskies are the No. 6 seed in the 32-team tournament, and they will face Canada’s No. 11-seeded St. Clair College at 2 p.m.

“The start of the year presented a significant learning curve, as only a few players had prior experience competing together. However, as the season progressed, their hard work and dedication became evident,” Director of Esports Justin Bragg said. “I’m incredibly excited to see the run they can make in the national championship tournament.”

SCSU is 18-0 overall during the spring season, winning titles in the Midwest Esports Conference and Fenworks regional league.

Saturday’s match can be streamed at twitch.tv/stcloudstate.
