St. Cloud State University has again been designated a Military Friendly School by Victory Media for 2016 for being one of the nation’s top schools that provide the best college experience for student veterans.
The University stands apart from others on the list as one of the Top 25 Public Universities and Colleges as well as having one of the Top Online Programs.
The Military Friendly Schools designation is awarded to the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace military students and to dedicate resources to ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation.
St. Cloud State’s commitment to student-veterans is represented by offering in-state tuition and waiving application fees for all veterans, as well as participating in Beyond the Yellow Ribbon and Warrior to Citizen programs that help military families in financial need, among others.
“The campus community has created an environment that is highly inclusive to the needs of student veterans, service members and military-connected students,” said Zac Mangas, interim director for the Veterans Resource Center. “Each year we increase these services to lend further support in student success. I feel this designation is reflective of the commitment to our students, especially to our veterans.”
The Military Friendly Schools honor designation helps provide service members and their families with transparent, data-driven ratings about post-military education and career opportunities.
St. Cloud State has earned the military-friendly designation each year since 2009.
