Minneapolis drummer JT Bates, and drummer from the Bad Plus Dave King performed a set of free improvisation in November 2016 that incorporated live electronics at the Local Blend coffee shop.
The performance was followed by an interactive question and answer session.
The David Swenson Memorial Foundation was established in 1994 in memory of music major David Swenson. The foundation funds scholarships in music for percussionists, and provides funding for percussion equipment and a guest artist performance series.
Since 1994, the foundation has granted over $600,000 to the Department of Music establishing it as one of the largest contributors to scholarships at SCSU.
