Eastman Hall is undergoing renovation and being re-purposed for student services and health sciences academic programs. Here’s the renovation By the Numbers:
- 88 YEARS since Eastman Hall debuted on the Mississippi River as the physical education, recreation and intercollegiate athletics building for St. Cloud State Teachers College.
- $865,000 THOUSAND DOLLARS in design money appropriated by the 2014 Legislature to plan a major renovation.
- $18.6 MILLION DOLLARS in funding approved by the 2017 Legislature to re-purpose Eastman for student services and health sciences academic programs.
- 3 PARTNERS will facilitate construction: Project architect RSP Architects, Minneapolis; construction manager, Terra General Contractors, Rogers; and owner’s representative, Pegasus Group, St. Paul.
- 42,291 GROSS SQUARE FEET will be renovated. Granite, pool tiles, woodwork and the red SC initials on the gym’s center court are among the items that may be integrated into the new building.
- 15,562 GROSS SQUARE FEET will be built, including a river-facing mezzanine.
- 5 STUDENT SERVICES will call Eastman home: Student Health Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, UCHOOSE, Recovery Community and Healthy Huskies.
- 13 UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS offered by the School of Health and Human Services, which will have classrooms and clinical-training space in Eastman.
- 2019 should herald a SPRING COMPLETION and grand opening.
