An open house for “Theater as Art: The Costume Sketches of Harvey Jurik” is 3-5 p.m. March 15 in Miller Center, Room 314. On Thursday, March 15 from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. in University Archives, Miller Center, room 314. The show officially opens on March 16 and will be open for at least a year.
Jurik was a St. Cloud State University faculty member in the theatre department from 1972-1992. He spent a lot of his time at the University designing costumes for the theatre and film studies department.
Jurik designed non-contemporary costumes and the exhibit will present his sketches as well as photos of the finished costume.
Jurik resides in the area and he will attend the open house to discuss his sketches. Brenda Wentworth, a current theatre department faculty member, will also be at the open house to discuss St. Cloud State’s theatre program.
