There is evidence of the power of philanthropy in virtually every corner of St. Cloud State University. Lives are transformed. Programs are energized. Games are won. And students are enriched in ways that complement their classroom experience through their involvement with nearly 250 student organizations.
As I begin my tenure as Foundation Board Chair I am optimistic about our prospects for future success. Much work has been done over the last several years by our Board, and Foundation leadership and staff, to strengthen our capacity to fulfill our mission.
Hi, I’m Mallory. I was born and raised in western Minnesota and have struggled with many aspects in my young life. After starting college in Minnesota, I decided my life needed a change and transferred to Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. While in Florida I left one abusive relationship and entered into another. After being physically and mentally abused I soon was left with little.

Whitnee Herrling’s inspiration to pursue a career as a pediatric endocrinologist was the result of her interaction with her own physician who successfully helped her manage her Type 1 juvenile diabetes.
I enlisted in the Marine Corps post 9-11 and went to Pensacola, Florida, to be trained to fix F-18 jets. For three-and-a-half years, I traveled all over the world. Wherever those jets went– I went.
Students in St. Cloud State’s Mass Communications program continue to build its reputation as one of the Midwest’s best. In the most recent Broadcast Education Association student awards, St. Cloud State scored 1st Place awards.
Accepting the opportunity to study abroad has allowed me to grow as a person in so many ways. Each day I observed and participated as a student nurse at a community health clinic in Chile.
Herberger Business School students participating in the Husky Growth Fund co-curricular program traveled to Chicago in November 2014 where they were hosted by multiple industry leaders in the financial sector, Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Chicago Board Options Exchange.
The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in June 2015 named St. Cloud State a Center for Academic Excellence for its Center for Information Assurance Studies, putting the University in the elite company of just 180 other schools in the country including Dartmouth, Rice and the University of Minnesota.
The prestigious Miller Scholars program recognizes and rewards faculty members who have a demonstrated record of motivation, excellence and leadership in teaching and learning. Established through a generous endowed gift by James W. and Marion Miller, prospective Miller Scholars undergo a rigorous selection process as they advance a high-quality project proposal that will elevate their teaching and learning to a significantly higher level.
