Trade and tariffs are topics at the Potter Global Engagement Forum at 9 a.m. Nov. 15 in the Atwood Memorial Center Theatre.
The event is headlined by Timothy Kehoe, University of Minnesota economics professor and adviser to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
Emceeing the event will be Lynn McDonald, associate professor of economics.
Following the keynote, a panel discussion will feature
- Robert Pengelly, consul general, Canada
- Liu Jun, acting consul general, China
- Gerardo Guerrero, consul general, Mexico
- King Banian, dean of the School of Public Affairs
Aref Hassan, political science professor, will moderate the panel.
A panel discussion of area business leaders will follow at noon in the Cascade Room. It will be moderated by Larry Hosch, business development manager for the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation. Panelist include:
- Brad Goskowicz, CEO of Microbiologics
- Joe Francis, president and CEO of Central McGowan
- Bryan Burns, CEO of DeZURIK
“Many business leaders have been affected by tariffs as part of recent trade policy, particularly for firms with complex international supply chains,” Banaian said. “We are excited to have three different sets of perspectives offered to our campus and community.”’
The Potter Global Engagement Forum is an International Education Week event at St. Cloud State. It also is a Sesquicentennial event.
