The Fighting Saints Battalion Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) was named as one of eight winners of the MacArthur Awards for the 2017-2018 school year.
Representing the 3rd Brigade and comprised of cadets and officers from the College of Saint Benedict, Saint John’s University and St. Cloud State University, the Fighting Saints Battalion was selected among 275 ROTC units nationwide as one of the top programs in the country.
The award recognizes the ideals of “duty, honor and country” as advocated by General MacArthur and takes into consideration the achievement of the school’s commissioning mission, cadets’ performance, standing on the command’s National Order of Merit List and cadet retention rate.
