ST. CLOUD TIMES — Facilities are a game-changer in NCAA recruiting and high-level speed and strength training.
And for this year’s alumni challenge at St. Cloud State, the athletics department has made it clear what needs a major upgrade: the weight room.
The department has described the renovation of the Strength & Conditioning Center in Halenbeck Hall as the top priority for Huskies Athletics.
The project’s total cost is $925,000, and, thanks largely to a $500,000 lead gift, the university raised $725,000 before an alumni fundraising challenge began June 3. That effort, which ends Wednesday, had raised $36,000 as of Tuesday — an amount that also will be matched.
