Faculty and staff are working hard making plans to welcome students back to campus this fall safely with a focus on learning and health.
The university is Bringing Huskies Home this fall with on campus classes, housing, athletics and events — all while keeping student safety in mind as the top priority.
Bring Huskies Home is an initiative underway to bring students, faculty and staff back to campus in a manner that is safe for Huskies to live, work and study within the guidelines of the CDC, Minnesota Department of Health and the Governor’s administration. During spring semester, St. Cloud State, along with all 37 Minnesota State institutions, took the step to finish up the semester remotely to comply with Minnesota State and Minnesota Department of Health guidelines and the state’s stay-at-home order.
We are offering single rooms only in our residential halls and preparing an aggressive campus cleaning initiative.
While students will be on-campus, instruction will look and feel different than a normal semester with planning around providing courses:
- Fully in-person
- As a blend of in-person and online and in-person
- Fully online
Every class will have a D2L Brightspace component to ensure readiness in case another stay-at-home order becomes necessary for Minnesota.
The initiative has formed six committees to ensure safe operations in:
- General operations
- Academic instruction
- Residential Life
- Student services
- Athletics
- Engagement
Employees will return to campus throughout July with offices fully open for in-person services on Aug. 3. Fall semester classes begin Aug. 24.
