St. Cloud State University faculty are preparing to present their ideas in an effort to receive up to $25,000 in innovation funding at the 2022 Minnesota State Shark Tank Open on April 7.
The Shark Tank Open is Minnesota State Educational Innovation’s premier innovation event, drawing educators from across 37 colleges and universities for an afternoon of reimagining education. Faculty and staff innovators from across the state will have seven minutes to virtually present their innovative project ideas to a panel of judges —known as the sharks — in an effort to receive up to $25,000 in innovation funding.
This year, St. Cloud State will be represented by the team of Drs. Matt Davis and Matt Julius from Biology, and Dr. Jieyu Wang from the Department of Information Systems at the Shark Tank Open.
Dr. Davis and Dr. Julius will pitch their ideas for funding on the topic of “Innovating the Science Classroom for Widespread Engagement.”
In addition, Dr. Wang, a previous Small Seed Innovation funding recipient, will present as part of the innovation exhibit portion to give an update on the topic “Designing conversational agent for education: tailoring university student’s personalities into human-centered intelligent systems” as the project gets underway.
Registration is now open to join the online 2022 Shark Tank Open on April 7, and those who register will be sent a calendar invitation with details on how to join the presentations.
