St. Cloud State University President Robbyn Wacker, Dean of the College of Education and Learning Design Jennifer Mueller and other St. Cloud State colleagues welcomed representatives from the Minnesota House Capital Investment Committee to St. Cloud State’s Education Building on Sept. 23 as part of their Capital Investment Tour, a multi-day tour of campuses within the Minnesota State System.
The Committee toured the facility and viewed a presentation highlighting a proposal for a new Education and Learning Design Complex on campus. President Wacker welcomed everyone to campus and provided an overview of It’s Time, the strategic framework for the future of St. Cloud State. Dean Mueller discussed the historical roots of the college and its impact on education in the region and around the state. She shared a vision for a new complex that would house multi-generational and interdisciplinary approaches to education. The new complex would create learning spaces that would invite innovation and collaboration to prepare future educators spanning early education to higher education. The proposed Education and Learning Design Complex is a multiyear project that would be developed in three stages across multiple years.
Among the attendees in attendance for the tour were representatives Dan Wolgamott, Lisa Demuth, Fue Lee, Dean Urdahl, Kaela Berg, Mike Freiberg, John Huot, Leon Lillie, Rena Moran, Jordan Rasmusson, Liz Reyer, Nolan West, Jay Xiong and Kurt Daudt.
