St. Cloud State University welcomed incoming undergraduate students to campus for the start of the 2023-24 academic year during Huskies First Four on Aug. 17-20.
Huskies First Four is a four-day experience that annually serves as a welcome and orientation to SCSU for new incoming students before the start of fall semester.
Throughout Huskies First Four, students had a chance to meet new friends and have fun during their first days at SCSU as they got to know campus, taking part in numerous events and gatherings while starting to explore what life is like at SCSU. The days were packed with academic programming, socials, recreational activities, evening events and more for students on campus and in the St. Cloud community.
After students and their families arrived on campus Aug. 17 to move into their residential halls, others experiences during that first day included New Huskies Convocation, gatherings in various residential halls, an off-campus exploration of downtown St. Cloud and an outdoor movie. Activities resumed for students Aug. 18 with indoor and outdoor morning activities, an introduction to their Pack Leaders, academic orientations, a performance by comedian Eric O’Shea, Atwood After Dark and more.
Over the weekend, students met with their orientation groups, took part in Huskies Stories and had an opportunity to have dinner with SCSU President Robbyn Wacker before an event at the Skatin’ Place in St. Cloud on Aug. 19. Huskies First Four concluded Aug. 20 with a gathering in Munsinger Gardens, a Student Organization Meet and Greet, an Ice Cream Social and more.
Huskies First Events will continue throughout the First Four Weeks and the First Four Months to help all new and returning students prepare for a successful year.
