Two wins Sunday could propel Huskies Baseball into the national tournament.
Top-seeded St. Cloud State (54-4) plays sixth-seeded Henderson State (30-19) 1 p.m. May 17 at Joe Faber Field, St. Cloud. St. Cloud State has to beat the Reddies twice to advance to the May 23-30 NCAA D-II Baseball Championship in Cary, North, Carolina. The second game would be played about 4 p.m.
St. Cloud State has a 3-1 record in the Central Region tournament, with shutout wins over Missouri Southern and Southern Arkansas and a extra-inning victory over arch-rival Minnesota State Mankato (MSU). The lone loss was to Henderson State, a 10-4 defeat in the Huskies’ tournament opener.

The Huskies shattered the school-record for most wins in a season and brought home the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) league and tournament titles.
Pitcher/slugger Reese Gregory set the school mark for most wins (13) and notched a place in Huskies Baseball lore with a 10-inning shutout and relief win in consecutive days. The junior All-American from St. Cloud made the NSIC tournament team as a designated hitter and was named the NCAA Central Region pitcher of the year.
Gregory’s battery mate, senior catcher Mike Jurgella, is the NSIC Player of the Year. He earned a spot on the Capital One Academic All-District® Baseball Team and leads the team in five hitting categories, including runs batted in. View Huskies Baseball statistics.
