Mille Lacs County Times — Joe Cronin ’74 ’81 made a promise to his youngest son that was fulfilled last week when he said goodbye to First National Bank of Milaca, his employer for over 36 years.
“I said I would retire when Carl graduated college. I retired on Friday and he graduated two days later,” said the former chief financial officer.

Deciding against his original career path of becoming an auto mechanic, Cronin went on to attend Brainerd Community College. Last year, Brainerd Community College celebrated its 75th anniversary. Cronin was honored for being one of the outstanding alumni at the college, where he received his Associate of Arts degree years before.
He later earned an accounting degree from St. Cloud State University.
