Morrison County Record — Little Falls Friends began with an informal gathering of foreign students hosted by local families in the mid 1990s. Now officially recognized as a student-led group by St. Cloud State University (SCSU), the mission of those who participate remains the same — develop friendships with students who would otherwise not likely encounter American people out of their on-campus world.
Lois Hokanson, who founded the group with her late husband, Dick, explained why this is so important in the world today.
“Statistics show that the next world leaders are in the United States right now,” she said. “Unless people intentionally decide to reach out, student groups will stay separated.”
