The Department of Theatre and Film opens its 2015 International Film Series Sept. 21 with the film “Two Lives.”

Set in Germany and Norway the 2012 film written and directed by George Maas tells the story of a grown woman who was once a “war child.” War children were children born to German soldiers and Norwegian mothers during World War II who were separated from their mothers and taken to be raised in Germany. It stars Juliane Köhler and Liv Ullmann.
The film will be shown at 7 p.m. Sept. 21 in the Atwood Memorial Center Little Theatre. It is the first film showing in the International Film Series, which offers a film showing at 7 p.m. Mondays Sept. 21-Nov. 9 in the Atwood Little Theatre.
Films shown include modern offerings from Poland, Palestine, the Netherlands, China, Lebanon, Russia and Spain. All the films are shown with English subtitles.
