A Generation Study Abroad Initiative scholarship designed to help students study abroad at ITESO-Universidad de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico.
ITESO offers a full-tuition scholarship each semester.
ITESO offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in Spanish for advanced language students and content classes in English in a 3+1 program where students take three classes in English and one Spanish language course at the beginning or intermediate level.
The English-content classes are offered in business, the humanities and the social sciences, and are part of ITESO’s regular curriculum, so study abroad students will attend classes with general ITESO students.
The deadline to apply is Oct. 15 for spring semester 2016 and April 15 for fall semester 2017.
To apply:
- Complete the application for ITESO
- Submit a one-page scholarship essay, which includes the reasons why you would like to study at ITESO and why it is important to you to study abroad in Mexico
- Get a nomination from your study abroad office (Education Abroad at St. Cloud State University)
- Get a recommendation letter from a former professor
The ITESO scholarship is awarded based on academic and social merit. Students must receive a nomination from their home study abroad office to qualify. There is no language requirement. Students are still responsible for airfare, room and board and local transportation while they are studying in Guadalajara.
