WJON — For the fourth year in a row, St. Cloud State University has been recognized as one of the best schools to transfer to. Phi Theta Kappa’s Transfer Honor Roll looks at 40 metrics, like admission practices, college cost, and financial aid.
SCSU is the only public institution in Minnesota, and one of 208 colleges and universities nationwide to earn a spot on the honor roll. The university was recognized for excellence in developing pathways for community college transfer students. Phi Theta Kappa’s Honor Roll is an online tool designed to help students find the best-fit colleges and career pathways.
KNSI — St. Cloud State University has been awarded two grants to provide updated training to workers from central Minnesota companies.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development awarded $50,000 to the university to help Pinnacle Climate Technologies and $216,000 to assist Landwehr Construction Inc. The training will be conducted through SCSU’s Minnesota Job Skills Partnership.
WJON — It’s been a tradition on the St. Cloud State University campus for five decades now. This is the 50th annual Lemonade Concert and Art Fair. The event runs Thursday, June 22nd from 11:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.
From 1974 through 1998 it was held in July or August, but it has been in late June since 1999. The first fair featured more than 40 artists, and by the mid-90s as many as 300 art vendors were part of the fair.
Dr. Heather Brown has been named the Director of the Women’s Center at St. Cloud State University, effective July 5. Dr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lake Forest College and a Master of Theological Studies degree from Harvard Divinity School – both focused on women’s studies in religion. She earned a Doctorate

Dr. Jennifer Cavalli has been named Executive Director of Honors College at St. Cloud State University, effective July 5.
Marc Vaillancourt has been named the Associate Vice President for Philanthropy at St. Cloud State University.
As Associate Vice President for Philanthropy at SCSU, Vaillancourt will partner with Vice President for Advancement & Alumni Engagement Nic Katona to provide strategic leadership, direction and management for philanthropy programs and initiatives.
Nearly 600 St. Cloud State University alumni, faculty and staff, students, fans and supporters showed their support for St. Cloud State and the Minnesota Twins during SCSU Night at the Twins game on May 9 at Target Field in Minneapolis.

The Linda (’74) and Richard Offerdahl Autism Discovery Center at SCSU will provide students an opportunity to work directly with patients to discover the best treatment options.
