The Dr. Potter’s Bigs on Campus Mentoring Initiative celebrated the conclusion of it’s eighth year with 21 “matches” recognized for their dedication to the program. Bigs on Campus pairs St. Cloud State faculty, staff, alumni, and upperclassmen as role models and mentors with sixth through twelfth graders from South Jr. High and Tech High Schools.

Lieutenant Lori Ellering ’95 ‘06 of the St. Cloud Police Department is the instructor of CJS 421 P.O.S.T. Administration, a required course for students wishing to become licensed peace officers in Minnesota. In this course, students take an in-depth look at the principles of law enforcement, stress/crisis intervention, crime prevention, community relations, court testimony, communications, and cultural awareness.
Frank Weber, forensic psychologist and St. Cloud State University alumnus, spoke to Criminal Justice Studies students Oct. 4 about criminal theories and the psychology of sex offenders, including the psychological profiling he performs to aid in the solving of homicide, sexual assault, and domestic abuse cases.
