SCSU alumni speak on professional opportunities with History degrees

On April 3, the St. Cloud State University Department of History hosted four History alumni to speak to current students, faculty and staff about the opportunities they have been presented after earning degrees from SCSU.

Alumni David Mead, Nathan Zacharias, Kayla Stielow and Shaela (Rabbit) Pion found numerous connections in conversations at the opening reception with History Professors Jason Eden, Robert Galler and Jeffrey Mullins, as well as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts Mark Springer.

Company owned by SCSU alumnus earns 2023 Small Business Exporter of the Year recognition

St. Cloud State University alumnus Raj Bhandari ’08 had his company, Sciencix, recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the 2023 Small Business Exporter of the Year in March. Bhandari, who earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a minor in Biology from SCSU in 2008, is the sole owner and president of Sciencix.

Kayla Stielow ’14 ’22 earns 2022 SCSU Distinguished Thesis Award

St. Cloud State alumna Kayla Stielow ’22 was recently announced as the 2022 St. Cloud State University Distinguished Thesis Award recipient for her work on Huskies Go to War: St. Cloud State During the World War II Era. 

Stielow’s thesis highlighted the student experience at SCSU during World War II. In addition to presenting historical research and analysis of campus community actions and reactions, she also created a walking tour of significant places on campus during the war.
