St. Cloud State University alumnus Raj Bhandari ’08 had his company, Sciencix, recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the 2023 Small Business Exporter of the Year in March. Bhandari, who earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a minor in Biology from SCSU in 2008, is the sole owner and president of Sciencix.

Education Minnesota announced 11 finalists for the 2023 Minnesota Teacher of the Year Award, with a St. Cloud State alumnus making it on the narrowed down list. Joe Schulte ’01 ’08 advanced to the round of finalists after advancing to the list of 44 semifinalists announced in March out of the initial list of 132 candidates named.

St. Cloud State Mass Communications students working for Husky Productions and UTVS earned multiple top honors from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association and the Society of Professional Journalists in April. SCSU took home a total of 13 awards from the three organizations.

St. Cloud State Esports continues to expand through academic programming and venues used for education, gaming and events on campus, and the next step in that process occurred April 3 with the official launch of the new Huskies Esports Arena in the Atwood Memorial Center.
