SCSU hosts 15th annual Power in Diversity Leadership Conference

St. Cloud State University’s Multicultural Student Services, along with LeadMN, Minnesota State Office of Equity and Inclusion, and Minnesota State institutions, presented the 15th annual Power in Diversity Leadership Conference on Jan. 25-27 at SCSU.

The 2024 Power in Diversity Leadership Conference featured the theme “Inclusive Innovation,” which centered the transformational impact diversity brings to an organization’s creativity, adaptability, responsiveness, prosperity and innovation.

SCSU students take part in BWCA Outdoor Excursion over Memorial Day

St. Cloud State University students from Congo, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Ghana received a unique experience over the Memorial Day holiday.

The international students participated in a five-day, four-night Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) Outdoor Excursion during Memorial Day weekend. This was the first opportunity for these students to fish, hike, canoe and enjoy outdoor recreational activities of this type.

SCSU selected to receive the IIE American Passport Project grant

St. Cloud State University has been selected by the Institute of International Education (IIE) to receive an IIE American Passport Project grant that will enable up to 25 SCSU students to obtain a U.S. passport and support their study abroad journeys.

SCSU is one of 48 institutions awarded this opportunity, which will help up to 1,200 Pell-eligible, U.S. students obtain their U.S. passports and start their study abroad journey.

SCSU students take center stage during Journey Across the World 2023

St. Cloud State University students took center stage at the Paramount Center for the Arts in St. Cloud on March 21 for a presentation of Journey Across the World 2023.

The event, presented by SCSU and the City of St. Cloud, provided an exciting and fun show while showcasing the diverse cultures of St. Cloud through song, dance and other lively performances. The showcase annually features performances by SCSU students.

SCSU students, staff attend Clinton Global Initiative University annual meetings

Three St. Cloud State University students and one faculty member had the unique opportunity of attending the 15th annual Clinton Global Initiative University (GCIU) meetings on March 3-4 at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

The meeting annually brings together student leaders and global experts in business, public service and social impact to develop innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.
