Author presents on the White Rose, modern day heroes
In 1942 a group of students rose up to resist the Nazis at the University of Munich. In 1943, Hans and Sophie Scholl were the first two members of the group arrested and executed for their resistance. Author Jud Newborn recounts their story in “Speaking Truth to Power.” He will speak about their resistance effort at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 in Ritsche Auditorium in Stewart Hall.
