The Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) and the National Security Agency (NSA) have certified that St. Cloud State University offers a set of courseware that has been reviewed by National Level Information Assurance Subject Matter Experts and determined to meet the National Training Standards for the duties and responsibilities of both Information Systems Security Professionals, NSTISSI No. 4011 and Risk Analysts, CNSSI No. 4016E . The certificate is valid from June 2008 through June 2013.
St. Cloud State University was presented the award for CNSS course mapping by Mr. David Wennergren, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Information Management and Technology & DoD Deputy Chief Information Officer, at the 12th Annual Colloquium: “Industrial Cyber Security: A Global Imperative,” hosted by the University of Texas at Dallas on June 4, 2008.

St. Cloud State University now joins a select group of elite institutions pursuing the common goal of reducing vulnerabilities in the national information infrastructure by promoting higher education in information assurance and producing a growing number of professionals with information assurance expertise in various disciplines. With this event, St. Cloud State University takes a significant step towards becoming a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education and therefore eligible for grants through both National Science Foundation and the Department of Defense Information Assurance Scholarship Programs.
