2012-13 UTVS awards

In just a few days in April, St. Cloud State University’s UTVS Television earned more than 25 awards from the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), Northwest Broadcast News Association (NBNA), Broadcast Education Association (BEA) and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ (NATAS) Upper Midwest Chapter.

Included among the awards were 15 first place honors and a Best of Festival award during the BEA Festival of Arts for Husky Productions.

“It was a great year for the whole crew and the awards we received are great to look back on and prove how successful this season was,” said Husky Productions producer, Matt Szymanski, Sauk Rapids. “I couldn’t ask for a better crew to work with. This season will be a memory that will last a lifetime.”

UTVS is the student-run station that broadcasts on Charter Cable channel 21. UTVS’ Husky Productions division manages broadcasts of men’s and women’s Husky Hockey games on Charter channel 87.
